20th Century Fox Home Entertainment - DVD Supply Chain Carbon Analysis
Business Objective:
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment (TCFHE) wanted to understand the carbon footprint of its supply chain for the manufacture of it DVDs. Additionally, TCFHE sought to be one of the leading companies to collaborate with Wal-Mart on supply chain carbon analyses.

Solution:
By interviewing TCFHE managers, Clear Carbon Consulting created a complete production process flow chart for the manufacturing of a DVD. Next, Clear Carbon Consulting identified relevant GHG emissions sources for each step of the production process and solicited data from over 20 suppliers. All data were aggregated to show the total emissions of the supply chain as well as by individual sources.

Project Results:
Engaged over 20 suppliers to collect data on manufacturing and transportation of supplied goods.
Shared results with Wal-Mart as a pilot project for its supply chain carbon scorecard initiative with the Carbon      Disclosure Project.
Provided results, methodologies, and ideas to other film studios to generate broader industry awareness and      collaboration.
Created insight into the magnitude of supply chain emissions.

Project Details:
Results were analyzed to show the multiple sources by emissions type and supplier companies.
A number of different GHG quantification methodologies were used to calculate GHG emissions from a variety      of direct and indirect sources.
A completed methodology document ensured transparency and repeatability.
